Deliverance

In the Gospel of Matthew, we find the account of Jesus commissioning his disciples to carry out his ministry of healing and deliverance. He gathers them together and imparts to them authority over unclean spirits, declaring, "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give" (Matthew 10:8). This charge marks a pivotal moment in the disciples' journey, as they are empowered to continue the work of their master, bringing light into the darkness and freedom to the oppressed. Apostles and disciples were commissioned to pray and deliver

Prayers

One of the noblest expressions of prayer is intercession—lifting up the needs of others before God and standing in the gap on their behalf. In the book of James, we are exhorted to "pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective" (James 5:16). This verse underscores the profound impact of prayer in the lives of others, inviting believers to be instruments of God's grace and mercy through fervent intercession.
The book of Acts opens with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, as the disciples are filled with power from on high to proclaim the Gospel to the nations. In Acts 2, Peter stands before a crowd of bewildered onlookers and delivers a powerful sermon, declaring, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:38). This sermon, delivered under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, results in the conversion of thousands and lays the foundation for the early Christian movement.

Clergy

Like the disciples whom Jesus called and commissioned to carry out His mission, clergy members empower others for ministry, equipping them with the tools and resources needed to serve God and their communities. Through mentorship, discipleship programs, and leadership development initiatives, clergy nurture the gifts and talents of their congregants, encouraging them to step into their own roles as ambassadors of Christ in the world. In this way, clergy continue the legacy of Jesus' disciples, who were sent out to proclaim the good news and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19-20).
